I’ll get right to the point. I am asking for your support of the Madison Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA). You would be helping the HLAA Madison Chapter reach out to and help the estimated 20% of the population in our area with hearing loss.
For me and so many others, hearing loss has been a long-time challenge. Like so many people, it was several years before I decided to see an audiologist and start wearing hearing aids. In 2012, my audiologist suggested I attend a meeting of the local HLAA chapter. Immediately I was amazed and impressed with the available knowledge and resources. Learning I was not alone changed my self-perception, increased my confidence, and gave me courage to search for more information about hearing loss and coping strategies. Through HLAA I learned about improve communication skills, assistive technology, and how to live well and enjoy life again despite my hearing loss.
HLAA’s mission is to advocate and provide information, education, and support for and to those with hearing loss. An all-volunteer organization, chapter meetings are open to all who are interested. At each monthly meeting we have presentations by service, business, medical and community leaders as well as our own knowledgeable members, all of whom speak to the issues affecting hearing loss.
The Need:
Many of our activities have a financial cost including printing of educational materials, maintenance of the website, workshops and programs, sponsoring members attendance at workshops and conferences, providing open captioning at meetings, and webcasting our meetings to people throughout the state.

Our chapter is dependent on the generosity of participants and others who support its purpose and mission. Our Sponsor Drive is the chapter’s major funding source. We ask for you to become a sponsor at a level that works for you.
Those who donate $250 or more are recognized on our website and all promotional materials though, of course, donations of any size are much appreciated.
