Since the passage of the Over-the-Counter Hearing Aid Act of 2017, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been working to create regulations regarding this new category of hearing device.
But the regulations have not yet been written. Meanwhile, we are all seeing multi-page newspaper ads for hearing devices. How do we tell what is appropriate for our use? What about assessment, service, and on-going follow-up?
